Science of Love

By

Love is a science.

It is a practice.

It is an action.

It is a decision.

It is a state of mind.

It is a sense of being.

Love hones habits, cultivates character, and kneads the essence of your soul. It is an outcome and a beginning.  It is an arduous journey and a place to call home.

Love is an abyss. A term so vast in meaning that some forms cannot be described by spoken word. It encapsulates nuances as simple as physical gestures of affection to the complex choices that may lead to great sacrifice for the betterment of others.

Love is a science.

It is an abandonment of ego.

It is a surrender to control.

It is an acceptance of the moment, regardless of how it serves you.

It is a service to others.

It is an intention.

“Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind” to quote William Shakespeare. It is a notion so endless it requires the brain to tirelessly weave actions, words, inferences, moments, and seconds around the concept that impacts us the most, self-worth. In other words, the mind is a database that is powered by the energy of love, and our actions are the consequence of how we love ourselves and others.

Coalescing the power of our knowledge with the ferocity of our love, gives rise to faith. This friends is the very core of how we uncover our joy, peace, and contentment. This is how we share our light with the world.

I feel it fitting to end this post with the words of the great Greek philosopher Socrates, “One word frees us of all the weight and pain in life. That word is Love.”
